Designer artists’ Association „Kocka”

Its aim is to unite the young designers of the region (Hungary, Slovakia and Austria), to provide support and advocacy, to establish and maintain contacts. It also organizes lectures, exhibitions and educational projects.

National Association of Hungarian Artists (MAOE)

Uniting professional artists and possessing the largest number of members, its main goal is to provide advocacy, social well-being and legal aid service for them. Beside the fields of fine/applied arts, photography and design it has got separate sections for literature and music as well.

Association of Hungarian Architects

A volunteer basis professional and social organization which deals with the social, cultural, artistic and content aspects of architecture. Expert sections include: Urban and Rural Planning, Architecture, Interior Architecture, Protection of Historic Buildings and Landscape Architecture. Conditions for membership are: degree in one of the concerned fields, curriculum vitae, a portfolio and the recommendation of two MÉSZ members who possess É1 level of architect rights.

Association of Young Artists‘ and Designers‘ Studio (FISE)

Its aim is to join the forces of young professionals and to provide advocacy for newcomers just beginning their careers. It aids members in their artistic endeavors and social integration by giving regular information, building relations, announcing grants and competitions, organizing domestic and foreign exhibitions. Age limit for membership is 35 years.  The Studio management makes the decision on accepting new members based on the applicant’s portfolio and on the recommendation of the Membership Committee.

HUNGART Collecting Society of Hungarian Visual Artists

It aims at providing all-round copyright protection for its members in Hungary and abroad. Its tasks include the licensing of the secondary uses of the works of its members and their legal predecessors, monitoring of these uses, collection of the royalties to be paid by users and their disbursement to the rightfully entitled.  Membership becomes valid upon the receipt by the Managing Board of the application for membership and their acceptance as a member (membership is not subject to any criteria).

National Association of Interior Decorators (LOSZ)
Its aim is to help and promote the creative work and further training of those working in he field as well as creating and maintaining a continuous working relationship between designers, manufacturers and distributors. For this purpose it runs an informational database and also organizes exhibitions, corporate presentations, professional meetings, study trips in Hungary and  abroad, collaborates in providing scholarships and competitions.

Membership is open to natural persons (interior designers and interior decorators) and legal entities (manufacturers, distributors and design companies) as well.

Hungarian Chamber of Architects
A public body with nationwide duties and jurisdiction, established by the Regional Architect chambers. Its underlying function is to determine the vocational and ethic rules for architects in Hungary, to supervise and control the legality of architectural activities, to represent the interests of Hungarian architects, to coordinate the activities of the Regional Architect Chambers. On second level, it decides on chamber membership legitimacy petitions of architects and experts, on admittance, removal or barring from the Architects and Experts Register. Applications for membership are to be submitted to the local Regional Chamber.

Association of Hungarian Film and TV Artists
A social and professional advocacy organization. Their aim is to serve and represent the interests of Hungarian film and TV art, the motion picture and audiovisual cultural values, to protect the common professional, moral, financial and social interests of those working in the audiovisual field. Membership is open to professional organizations registered as legal entities and all natural persons (film and television artists, critics) who request membership, agree to and accept the aims of the Association and whose application is accepted on basis of artworks by either a professional group or the Managing Board.

Hungarian Photography Society
The legal successor to the Photo-Club founded in 1899 and today offers its services to both amateur photographers and professionals alike. Members are allowed to use the Society’s sunlit photo studio and two darkrooms for a fee. In addition to this the Society regularly organizes exhibitions, professional lectures and club days. To become a member one should submit an application and pay the membership dues.

Association of Hungarian Photographers
It aims at supporting and developing the artistic works of photographers and representing them at a social level. The Association propagates the recognition of Hungarian photographic values both at home and abroad by organizing exhibitions and competitions, delegating experts and organizing events, publishing materials and supporting theoretical and research activities. Membership is open to those who create high quality photographic works or carry out theoretical work in photography at a scientific level. Application forms for membership are available from the secretariat and they should be submitted along with 10-15 photographs.

Association of Hungarian Fine and Applied Artists
The Association of Hungarian Fine and Applied Artists is a nationwide organization with specialist sections for fine arts, applied arts, design, restoration, and art history. For more than half a century, and since the political and economic changeover too, it has fostered the best traditions of its precursor organizations - the Fine Arts Society and the Applied Arts Society, both founded in the 19th century - in fostering links between art and society.

National Association of Hungarian Journalists (MÚOSZ)
Represents the professional interests of Hungarian journalists as employees. Beside protecting the freedom of the press, it is educating professionals and members are provided with legal counsel and support, medical benefits and social security. Membership is open to all who have come of age,  have been employed as a journalist or worked in a similarly qualified position, or have been doing continuous journalist work as a freelancer or as an entrepreneur for at least one year.  Divisions also include press photographer and type- and page-setting departments.

Péter-Pál Art Association
Its main goals are: to help the members starting their career and their participation in the cultural and art life. Hungarian Glass-Art Society
Its mission is to promote and support free creative activities, to popularize glass art, organize exhibitions, conferences, courses, symposia and to participate in forums abroad. Moreover, by running the International Experimental Glass Studio in Bárdudvarnok it aids Hungarian glass artists, calls for competitions, grants scholarships, ensures work opportunities for newcomers beginning their careers, intends to establish an independent International Contemporary Glass Museum and to collect documentation on works of art accomplished in the glass studio.

Hungarian Design Council
Responsible for working out the government’s design strategy and providing advice on administering this strategy, it is a representative and mediating body which consists of design and economic experts as well as representatives from governmental organizations. It makes proposals on the government’s design policies, takes part in the development of the design  institute system, has analysises prepared and grants awards. Its operative body is the Office of the Hungarian Design Council.
